How do I freeze my membership?
If you need to pause your Gymbox membership, you can request a freeze directly in the Gymbox App. Here’s how:
- Open the Gymbox app and go to Studio
- Select Self-Service.
- Select Idle Period > Add Idle Period
- Select your freeze dates and reason and confirm your request
If eligible and approved, you will be informed by a confirmation email.
Important terms to know:
- Freezes start on the 1st of the month and you are able to freeze for a maximum of 3 months during a 12-month period. This 12-month period refreshes each year on the anniversary of your joined / sign-up date.
- A freeze fee of £25 per frozen month applies and you won’t have access during the freeze; you cannot utilise your free guest passes while frozen.
- Freezes can’t be applied during a cancellation notice period, and a freeze will extend your minimum term by the number of frozen months.
- You must submit your freeze request at least 5 days before the freeze starts (e.g. to freeze from 1st June, submit your freeze request by 26th May).
Medical freezes:
We offer leniencies on the above rules if freezing due to illness, injury, or pregnancy, such as waiving the freeze fee, and offering to freeze for a longer duration. Supporting documentation will be requested and reviewed.
To request a medical freeze please follow these steps:
- Click “Submit A Request” below or here
- Choose “Freeze” from the drop down and fill in all the required fields, including your freeze reason
One of the member services team will then review your request and will come back to you with any further requirements including a request for your supporting documentation as well as any next steps.
Please note that freezing your membership does not pause your locker hire, which will remain active and chargeable. If you would like your locker hire to be paused as well, you will need to cancel it before freezing your membership and re-add it when you wish to use it again.
